While the L-shaped desk was rather straight forward in design, as we've made our fair share, the biggest challenge came with the conference room table, as our client had a goal of the table be capable of expanding by two feet, but wanted to achieve the extra length without having to move the legs of the table at all. The secret in designing this particular piece of furniture is found in the sub-top of the table, which is directly attached to the legs. Within the sub-top, we engineered and installed a cog mechanism that allowed the two pieces of the table to expand and contract from its center to fit the leaf in between the two halves, without having to move the legs of the table itself.
